In some cases approved usage is not uniform, but in preparing text books one great object should be to settle for good the spelling of all our proper names, I would suggest that the map of India and the district maps of the Calcutta School Book Society be adopted as guides as far as they go, W. The last rule I have to suggest is that the technical terms be uniform throughout, and when practicable, taken from the Calcutta School Book Society's maps, so that there may be perfect concordence betweeno the maps and text-books. v The object of this rule is obvious, and calls for no remark.
