স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ । সাহেব এখানে খুব সম্মান প্ৰাপ্ত হয়েন। কিন্তু তঁাহার ধৰ্ম্মমত তত উদার না থাকাতে তিনি এদেশীয় জনসমাজের মনের উপর কোন প্রভাব বিস্তার করিতে পারেন নাই। সুতরাং বিরক্ত হইয়া তিনি আমেরিকায় প্রত্যাবৰ্ত্তন করেন এবং সেখানে স্বামিজীর কাৰ্য্যের বিশ্লোৎপাদন মানসে। তঁহায় নামে কতকগুলি অমূলক কুৎসা রটনা করেন। তাহার স্থূলমৰ্ম্ম এই যে, স্বামিজী মিথ্যাবাদী, তিনি আমেরিকার বর্মণীদিগের অযথা নিন্দাবাদ করিয়াছেন, তিনি ব্ৰাহ্মণ নহেন, শূদ্র, অর্থাৎ নীচজাতিদের অন্তৰ্গত, সুতরাং সমুদ্রযাত্রা করা যা তাহার জাতি গিয়াছে বলিয়া যে কথাটা রাটিয়াছে সেটা ভুল, ভারতবর্ষেব লোকে সকলে তাহার মতাবলম্বী নহেন, সেখানে তঁহার প্রভাব অতি সামান্য, বিলাতে ও আমেরিকায তঁহায় প্রচারকায্যে যে ফল হইয়াছে would be extremely liberal and elevating The Christ-power this man intends to bring to India, is not that of the intolerant; dominant superior with heart full of uontempt for everything else but its own self, but that of a brother who craves for a brother's place as a co-worker of the various powers, already working in India.
