As they cane near the furnace, the flames were blown towards then by the wind, and, inwrapping the king's officers, instantly destroyed their lives, while the young Jews feil down, botind, into the midst of the fire. Soon after this, Nebuchadnezzar rose from his seat in haste; and in great astonishment, and said to his counsellors, “Did not we cast three men, böund, into the midst of the fire?” They replied, “True, O king.” Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no and the form of the fourth is like an Angel of God.” The king looked again towards the furnace. The three men were walking in the midst of the flames, that hissed, and crackled, and curled around their bodies, without any power to do them harm.
