This prophecy too, is beginning to be fulfilled. For the writings of the prophets, as well as the other parts of the Bible, have been lately much studied aud explainéd, and many persons are going to different parts of the earth, to spread the knowledge of the one true God and of the holy Scriptures. Uninformed as to the precise time when all these events should be accomplished, and desirous of ascertaining it, Daniel asked for an explanation ; but the angel in reply said to him, (Rii. 8,9) “Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified and made whole and tried, but the wicket shall do wickedly: and gone of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand;” for apure heart is necessary to a right understanding of the things of God; such only, will God teach his ways,
